 THE MORGAN MOTOR COMPANY LAUNCHES THE ROADSTER CUP RACE PROGRAMME AT THE AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL SHOW
Morgan’s exciting new 250 bhp Roadster Lightweight
racecar is to compete in the 2005 Power Torque Morgan Motor Company Challenge,
with plans for a stand alone one make championship in 2006.
Aimed
squarely at first time amateur racers who want to race purely for fun with
strictly policed driving standards and controlled costs in an
outstandingly friendly championship; The Roadster Cup Programme is being
administered by a very experienced historic race competitor used to
guiding complete novices on how to get started. Advice and support will be
provided throughout the 10-race season.
The 3.0 litre Ford V6 powered Roadster is quintessentially British with
it’s easy to drive front engine / rear wheel drive layout. With a 0-60
time well under 5 seconds and stunning in gear acceleration times, the
Lightweight will be great fun to drive on road or track.

racers will be supplied ready to go, via six Morgan Motorsport appointed
dealers in the UK, please see contact details below. Each dealer has vast
Morgan experience and will be delighted to maintain the car on the owner’s
behalf.
Morgan owners are renowned for road driving their cars to all sorts of competitive events, and Morgan Motor
Company wish to encourage this tradition by awarding a special trophy to the most successful Roadster
competitor who drives their racecar to and from every race. This also removes the necessity to buy a trailer
or transporter; a considerable saving.
The Roadster Lightweight Cup cars are produced purely for competition at the exceptionally competitive price of
£28,021 +VAT; over £2000 + VAT less than the standard road going model without extras! Understandably the Morgan Motor
Company requires purchasers to demonstrate their desire to race the car by paying for the Roadster Cup registration
package in full prior to the car being registered for the road by the factory.
To ensure the Cup cars stand out among other Morgans racing, all cars will be supplied with silver wings.
The show car features the 2004 Morgan works Le Mans colour scheme, but Rover Nightfire / Rioja red and Rover British
racing green metallics are available at no extra cost.

Morgan Finance lease package: £5,000 deposit. 1 payment of £509.05 then 35 payments of £389.05. Balloon payment £19,486.50. APR 9.0%
Race insurance cover: Special deal £420 per race (including practice) gives £20,500 accident cover inclusive of £2,000 excess.
Road insurance cover: Special deal via Morgan Insurance, £299 pa includes free track day cover and any UK address, (see full policy for details).
AA recovery package: In the event of an accident or breakdown at a race meeting or on the road: Special deal £90 per year

Controlled specification of the car: As supplied, no changes permitted, engine, gearbox, back axle and ECU sealed to ensure they remain standard - minimum weight, Yokohama control tyres.
Registration package: Includes MSCC membership, Championship registration, MSA introduction pack, race licence, mandatory MSA race school fees, 10 race entries and a pre season test day with race tuition. £2,750 inc VAT.
Lightweight Limited Edition: A maximum of 100 Roadster Cup cars will be built and each one will be numbered. Morgans are legendary for their lack of depreciation and previous special editions are much sought after.
Optional Road packs:
• Comprising of a full width quick release windscreen, sidescreens, wipers, passenger seat with harness, and tonneau. £1,550 + VAT when ordered with the car.
• The above plus carbon fibre quickly detachable hard top painted body colour. £3,450 + VAT when ordered with the car.
Both the above can be incorporated into the lease package if desired.
