Thoughts on 1st race

Having badly damaged the brand new car in practice, I’m sitting on the grid in a borrowed car, surrounded (rather too closely it seemed) by many other cars. Apprehensive. The red lights go out and, in the first roar of action, all of the worries disappear and the mind focuses on the task in hand.

Wow what a great race – plenty of thrills and not too many spills – a lot to learn but some valuable lesson already in the bag.
Don’t stop me now – I’m having such a good time – having a ball ! Look out Donnington here I come.

What a great team to go racing with. From the outset the “new boys” in our Roadsters got on well together. Then on race day meeting the more established drivers I found a very friendly atmosphere with a bit of healthy competition just under the surface – just as it should be !
